Chilled Dub For Any Occasion

My first exposure to International Observer was thru listening to a Pitch Black remix. So I was very pleased to check out this awesome upcoming release.

FELT is a deep trek into lush dubby rhythms. Elements of traditional roots-dub melt with today's electronica to stir the mind and body. It is very easy to get lost in the sonic tapestry that International Observer weaves. Likewise, its very hard to pick a favorite here as all tracks carry their own weight. Unlike some artists who may slip in a filler track, Felt is solid from beiginning to end.

1. House of the Rising Dub

Press Release:

Two years after the seminal Heard was released, Tom Bailey AKA
International Observer returns with eleven more slices of delectable
dub drenched delights, designed to bother bassbins worldwide

Aside from his opening take on the classic, House of the Rising Sun,
Felt is an altogether deeper excursion into bass than its
predecessors: beats are sparser and the basslines heavier. The subject
matter is also sometimes quite dark: Lampedusa is inspired by the
immigrants held in camps on the Italian island of the same name,
physically only breaths away from freedom, but practically miles
apart.

It is still a joyful affair though, with tracks peppered by his
trademark horns and guitar riffs, and Popcorn Slavery is as near to
his playful pop past as electronic dub is able to go.

A welcome addition to the Observer oeuvre, then, building on the
lush ambience of Seen and the good grooves of Heard.
